How we make money
Last updated 1 November 2026
Plainly, because a site about honest pricing should be honest about its own.
Quote requests
This site is published by Leads Do Work Ltd, which also runs the quote service on it. When you request quotes, we pass your enquiry to installers who cover your area, and they pay us for it. You pay nothing, and you are under no obligation to accept any quote you receive.
Installers can join the network through our for installers pages.
What that does not affect
It does not affect the prices we publish, the guidance we give, or the order in which anything appears. There is no commercial reason for us to inflate a guide price, and a good one not to: the whole value of this site rests on the figures being usable, and a homeowner who finds our number nowhere near their quotes has no reason to come back.
We are not paid to feature any particular tradesperson. Where firms are listed on our regional pages, the order comes from the lead network's own data and we do not sell placement in it.
Finance
We earn nothing from finance. The repayment illustrations name no lender and link to no credit product, and we have no arrangement with any credit provider.
Brand names
Some guides name manufacturers, because some products are bought by brand. Those names are trade marks of their owners, and every page that uses one says so. We have no arrangement with any manufacturer: none pays us, none has approved what we write, and naming a brand is not a recommendation of it over another.
Advertising
Some pages carry adverts served by Google AdSense, and we earn a share of what advertisers pay Google to show them.
We decide where adverts go; Google decides which ones appear. They sit in fixed spaces, each labelled "Advertisement", and never inside a price table, next to the quote form or anywhere you might mistake for our own advice. We do not choose the advertisers and they have no say in what we publish: no one can pay to change a guide price, a figure or a recommendation. An advert for a tradesperson or company is not an endorsement.
The home page, the quote pages, our VAT and finance pages, and the legal pages carry no adverts. How Google uses cookies to show adverts, and how to refuse, is in our cookie policy.
