Compare quotes like for like

Enter up to three quotes for the same job. Each is put on the same VAT basis, set against the usual range for your region, and checked for what it covers.

Choose the job first. Then enter two or three quotes and tick what each one covers.

Why the cheapest is not always cheaper

Two things make quotes look further apart than they are. One firm shows VAT and another does not, which alone is a difference of a fifth on most jobs. And one quote includes scaffolding, waste removal or making good while another leaves them for later. The tick boxes are there so you can see which quote has been confirmed to cover what.

Tick an item only when it is written on the quote or the firm has confirmed it in writing. If a box stays empty, that is a question to put to the firm.

How the range is worked out

It is the guide price for the job, scaled by local labour rates for your region and shown with VAT, the same as on the cost guides. It is a guide, not a valuation: your job may be bigger, harder to reach or specified differently from the one the guide assumes. To look at a single quote in more detail, use the quote checker.

Guide prices are indicative and are not a quotation. See how we price for where they come from.
